Before the pandemic, education in certified courses was carried out on a paid basis (except for those courses carried out by the University). However, in the spring 2020, Coursera allowed free access for universities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to the catalog of courses under the Coursera for Campus (C4C) program The Tomsk State University joined this program. All our employees and students were afforded an opportunity to study in 4,000+ courses from the world leading universities and get a corresponding certificate.
At the end of 2020, public access to the Coursera catalog was closed, but most partners, including TSU signed a memorandum and joined the Coursera for Campus for Partners program. Thus, partnering universities granted each other access to their courses. Thanks to this program, all TSU students, teachers and employees have indefinite access to most courses and specialties on the platform with free certification.
The University additionally acquired 100 licenses with access to the full Coursera catalog (7,000+ courses), including courses from Master’s degree programs of the leading world universities. In academic year 2021/22, access to these courses will be granted to students of TSU online Master’s degree programs and hybrid learning programs.
