TSU celebrates the Year of Ecology in Russia with a new MOOC30.05.2017
TSU has launched a new online course “Ecology: from cells to Gaia” on an international e-learning platform Coursera.
Major topics covered by the course include the physical environment, how organisms interact with each other and their environment, evolutionary processes, population dynamics, communities, energy flow and ecosystems, human influences on ecosystems, and the integration and scaling of ecological processes through systems ecology.
Recent advances have energized these fields with results that have implications well beyond their boundaries: ideas, mechanisms, and processes that should form part of the toolkit of all biologists and educated citizens.
Author of the course is Roberto Cazzolla Gatti, Ph.D., Associate Professor in Ecology and Biodiversity, member of the BioClimLand Center of Excellence and a scientific head of the Master program “Biodiversity”, National Research Tomsk State University.
This course is the third TSU course on biology and the second course by Roberto Gatti. His first course on biodiversity is of high demand among Coursera users.
TSU MOOC team enriched the new course with a series of activities, which are aimed at increasing learners’ ecological consciousness and providing foundations for their ecological projects.
The 5-week-course on Ecology is available for free. Join us!
